Diagnosis of paraplegia
Paraplegia
is a disease, which is of great harm to patients. Then, under which condition
that patients will be diagnosed with paraplegia?
1. Serious trauma history
2. According to patients’
symptoms, if patients have symptoms including weakness in walking,
uncoordinated movement or unable to walk.
3. Spinal process
depression of patients’ vertebral canal and there exists pain by pressing with
hands or knocking. And the muscles of two sides have obvious pressing pain,
stress or stiffness. There exist
scoliosis or spine malformation, hypoesthesia or anesthesia. Other symptoms
include malacosarcosis or mascular tension, muscle weakness and hyperreflexia.
4. The disease can be
diagnosed according to the medical history, symptoms, physical sign and x-ray
result of patients. Traumatic paraplegia shall be identified from the
paraplegia caused by tuberculosis of vertebral bodies and tumor. And this can
be identified through X-ray film and other examinations.
Examinations for paraplegia
For
further diagnosis of paraplegia, some examinations are required. Necessary and
selective laboratory examinations include:
1. Blood routine
examination
2. Blood electrolytes
3. Blood sugar
4. Urea nitrogen
Selective
auxiliary examinations include:
1.
Radiography, CT, MRI and other examinations about cranial base.
2.
Cerebrospinal fluid examination.
