Lack of stem cells may be the key to recurrent miscarriage

A new study suggests that the lack of stem cells in the uterine wall may lead to recurrent miscarriage. "We have found that there are certain defects in the uterine wall of patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion," said Jan Brosens, leader of the research team, who is a professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Warwick University. “It is conceivable that we can achieve the desire to become pregnant by correcting these defects in patients.
