Treatment of Alzheimer Disease

In terms of treatment of Alzheimer disease, no treatment method with special effect has been found yet. At present, treatment mainly lies in the following two aspects: traditional treatment and stem cell treatment.

Traditional treatment of Alzheimer disease

Traditional treatment includes drugs treatment and rehabilitation treatment.
Drug treatment
Currently, there are many kinds of drugs for treating Alzheimer disease. Research experience points out that patients have significant difference in reaction to certain drug and this difference is related to the following factors: AD onset period, degree of dementia (early period, medium or advanced stage), degree of brain impairment, hereditary factor and drug reaction existing in individuals.

Rehabilitation treatment
1.                 Occupational therapy: On the basis of the functional disorder of patients, select some activities that patients are interested in and can help them to restore functions and skills, and ask patients to carry on training as required, such as building blocks, jigsaw, calligraphy, painting and knitting. Make patients concentrate their attentions, increase concentration and memory, improve physical strength and patience, increase sense of fun and rebuild confidence to life.

2. Physical exercise therapy: There is evidence of that activation of neuron plays a protection role in degenerative changes of aging and Alzheimer disease. Physical exercise can stimulate neurons and promote recovery of functions so it also is effective treatment method.

As Alzheimer disease is progressive, the above methods can only stabilize the disease temporarily but can’t guarantee no deterioration phenomena. Lack of stem cells may be the key to recurrent miscarriage

A new study suggests that the lack of stem cells in the uterine wall may lead to recurrent miscarriage.
